Discovering personal fitness routines through iteration
The trouble with picking up a whole fitness program is that I think its an all or none affair. And also there is this “stop and go” when you are trying to get into the program. One way to get around this “stop and go” is to have a trainer / be part of a group, where someone else is in charge of keeping the “beat” going.
If I were to discover a program that works me, perhaps it is better to build up from zero.
- start with one exercise that you find easy to get started
- see how many you can do
- add more reps
- add a different exercise
- interleave them
Once you have a habit going, make incremental changes.
